How much painting experience should I have to do this?

Absolutely NONE.  This is not about skill, it's about fun and we promise to walk you through it.  Think of it as a paint by numbers exercise without the numbers.

What should I wear?  

While Masterpiece Art Bar provides aprons for all painters, it is important that you wear something you don’t mind getting paint on.  We cannot promise the paint will come out of your clothes.  Most likely, it will not.

Can I pay at the door?  

It is not recommended that you count on tickets being available at the door.  We do sell tickets in advance and often sell out.  If we happen to have available seats, you will be able to purchase a ticket at the door.  We cannot hold seats unless the tickets have been purchased ahead of time.

Can kids come to the parties?  

Some parties are 21+ only and will be listed as such on the calendar.  Identification will be checked at the venues where this is the case.  Otherwise we welcome painters 12+.  Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds if you purchased tickets for individuals under 21 when it is otherwise posted.  However, if you notify us 48 hours in advance we can give you credit towards a future public event (per our refund policy). 

Do you give refunds if I can no longer come?  

While we do not offer refunds, we will gladly extend a credit towards a future event if we receive notice from you 48 hours prior to the event for which you have registered.

We do not issue credit for "no shows" as we reserve the seat for the ticket purchaser, limiting our ability to sell that seat.  We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to please plan ahead.

What time should I arrive?  

We recommend that you arrive about 30 minutes before the event.  If you are attending a FUNdraising event at a restaurant and they are offering proceeds on food purchases towards the charity, you may want to come early enough to also have dinner!

Is there parking at your events?  

We will not book an event at a venue that does not have access to parking for the party-goers.  The parking may not be private (such as at a mall restaurant or in a main street business), but identified locations for parking will be posted so that the painter knows ahead of time when needed.

Where are you located? 

At this time we are a fully-mobile business.  This means we do not have a physical location.  We bring the party to you!

Can I sit with my friends?  

We recommend that if you want to sit with a group or a friend, that you arrive early to secure seating next to each other.  We cannot always make a guarantee that you will be able to sit together though we will do our best to help make it happen.  Email us if you want to make special arrangements and we can discuss the options:  Georgianna@masterpieceartbar.com.

What kinds of accommodations can you provide for painters with disabilities?  

If you or someone in your party require an accommodation, please email us at least a week prior to the event.  Sample accommodations include: personalized printed painting instructions, seating close to the instructor, unobstructed spacing, extra time, and additional personal attention. 

While we cannot guarantee we can meet every need, we will make EVERY EFFORT to see that we can.


Private Events

Do you require a deposit for booking a private party? 

Yes.  A $100 deposit is required at the time of booking (except for FUNdraisers).  Payment is submitted along with a signed contract agreement.  

What if I need to cancel a party after it is booked? 

Full refunds are possible for parties cancelled 60 days prior to the event date.  50% can be refunded if it is cancelled 59-30 days prior to the event date.  We hold dates for parties and book out sometimes 6 months in advance.  Once a date is held, we do not accept other parties for that date.  No refunds of deposits are possible with less than 30 day’s notice.  A one-time reschedule option is available with a minimum of three week’s notice prior to the event.  We understand that things happen and want to be supportive within reason.

What happens if I need to reschedule an event? 

You can reschedule up to 60 days prior to the event.  After that a one-time reschedule option is available with a minimum of three week’s notice prior to the event.  We understand that things happen and want to be supportive within reason.

What happens if mother nature has other plans on the day of the event? 

The safety of all of our customers and our team is our number one priority.  We will connect with you once the prediction of inclement weather becomes clear.  We will work with you to make a decision and should it become necessary to reschedule we will do so without a fee.  This is an interactive dialogue and the goal would be to reach a shared agreement.  We do reserve the right to reschedule if we feel it is not safe for our team to travel.

Is there a fee for a personalized painting for the private party? 

We do not charge for personalized paintings at this time.  We do reserve the right to limit how many samples we create for a personalized painting. We may not always be able to create what you are looking for, but we will certainly try!  We cannot take the art from another artist without their expressed written permission.  So we will work with you to create an original painting that targets people who have never painted before.

Can I request a painting that I found online?

Paintings are the property of the artist who created them.  You can show us a painting you found with the source.  We will reach out to the artist and ask permission.  Sometimes they say yes and sometimes they say no.  Sometimes they will ask for a user fee (ranges from $100 and up).  We would pass that information on to you and if you want to move forward with the painting, you would be responsible for paying their fee.  If we cannot find the source, unfortunately we cannot use the painting.

Is there a minimum or maximum size party requirement?

There is no true minimum.  For it to be worth it for our team to travel to run a party we do have minimum fees that are based in the location, the amount of time and the number of people.  We would provide you with a quote upon request.

We do have a maximum of 45 painters.  The quality of the party is significantly reduced if it is any larger than that.  However, that maximum is also dictated by the venue you choose.  Some venues max out at 25-30, so choose your location based on your needs.

What is included in the private party package?

Party packages include instruction for one painting and painting supplies.  For a small convenience fee, we also offer tables and chairs and photos.  Painting supplies include:  Paint, easels, canvas, brushes, aprons, table covers, palettes, napkins and water cups. 

Can I request more than one painting for a private party?

Unfortunately, that doesn’t work, we tried it!

Who is responsible for booking and setting up the space for the private party?

You are responsible for identifying and booking the venue for your private party.  If there is a fee for the venue of your choosing, you would be responsible for the fee.

We have a list of venues where we have run parties previously along with information about their set-up, parking, food, etc.

If the venue is providing tables and chairs, then the venue would normally set up the space.  We can assist with letting them know how to set it up.  If Masterpiece Art Bar is providing the table and chairs, we will complete the set up.

Do we get to keep the paintings?

Yes, these masterpieces are all yours!


Kids Parties

What ages do you provide parties for?

Kids party packages are priced for kids ages 5-12.

What do adults do while the kids are painting?

Admire from afar?  Kids have more fun when the adults are not over their shoulders.  Trust us, we have been there!  Kids are creative and will be proud of their paintings because THEY created them.  Of course should they want the help of their adult, we encourage you to help out.

Do we get to keep the paintings?

Yes!  These are your masterpieces.

The maximum party size will depend on the age range of the group.  The younger the group, the smaller the maximum party size as little ones require more TLC.
